SKETCHBOOK : Character Study #1

Been working on character illustration and trying to find a style that I like. So I decided to do a sketch off an illustration I really like (done by artist nick slater)

This is the sketch coloured based off the original illustration. I love the proportion of this style of illustration. I also am drawn to that geometric vibes of the character.

So i decided to draw a new character with these illustration principles in mind of the proportions and geometric elements. This is my first attempt…something doesn’t feel right.

tried another character again and after many sketches and tweaking of her body, proportions, shape of the arms and legs and the shape of her coat, i am satisfied with the final outcome.
